Portrait of a home in transition

An intimate portrait of my family home, and of all the emotions I associate with it. For 48 years members of my family have lived in the house, and remnants of past generations remain steadfast in the present. Names carved onto window sills, cracks in the walls, family photographs and original wallpapers are all among the physical characteristics of the house which serve as constant reminders of a bittersweet past. My images feature these generational imprints on the house while also using shadow, reflection and natural lighting in order to evoke a sense of ambiguity. I aim to create a dialogue between past, present and future, questioning how a space can feel hallowed, familiar, intimidating and impermanent all at once.
