Je suis à toi / I'm Yours

A semester long photography project created for Art 448: Alternative Photography Practices at UW-Madison.

All of the intricacies, imperfections, intense hues and highlights created during the cyanotype process mimic the struggles of myself and my family with mental health within the past two years. After a health crisis I experienced studying abroad in France during the spring of 2021 and a traumatic event that shook my family to its core the following fall, I found immense comfort in creating images that reflected how I felt at the time; lost, hurt, and desperate to find meaning amidst hardship. The overarching title of the project, Je suis à toi (I'm yours) reflects my attempt to give viewers access to my worldview through each print, and therefore allow that perspective to be seen in a different light.

Three prints from this project were featured in the Memorial Union Main Gallery in Madison, WI from February 10 - March 24, 2023 for a 95th Annual Student Art Show hosted by WUD Art. I am honored to have received the Best in Show award for these prints! Read more about my work in the article linked below.
